And I Thought I Was Busy?!?

Three days in, and let's look at a few of the things Obama's been working on...

• Shuttering Gitmo.

• Halting extraordinary rendition.

• Guaranteeing habeas corpus rights to detainees.

• Revived FOIA.

Yanked Bush's Executive Privilege.

• Reversed the international "gag rule"

• Halted a buttload of Bush's Executive Orders

• Closed since 9/11, he's re-opening the top of Statue of Liberty to the public.

All the hand-wringing and face-slapping people were doing before Obama even took office got irritating. It called for the "Chill the fuck out" pic. I'm glad to see he's already making good on campaign statements.

Also, I absolutely and shamelessly ripped-off this post, but I gave you credit. I also gave you extra credit for quoting Mother Jones.

And he's opened up a direct dialogue with the Muslim world. The man's not fucking around. Couple this with the Rove subpoena and it's shaping up to be a very promising first seven days for longtime suffering libs like us.

"Going forward, anytime the American people want to know something that I or a former President wants to withhold, we will have to consult with the Attorney General and the White House Counsel, whose business it is to ensure compliance with the rule of law. Information will not be withheld just because I say so. It will be withheld because a separate authority believes my request is well grounded in the Constitution."

Most of that list didn't come as a surprise. But the above plus a change in FOIA policy were pleasant surprises.
